Duncan Hedges
Duncan Hedges is a partner at Hansen Jacobson. He started his career in the corporate department of Latham & Watkins working on large-scale transactions, including a bidding war for a Major League Baseball team and financing deals for a Las Vegas hotel franchise. Despite the excitement of high-profile corporate work, he wanted a deeper personal connection with his clients and to be closer to his true passion—the entertainment industry. That led him to join Hansen Jacobson more than a decade ago and to build a successful practice spanning film, television, podcasting, social media, branding and more. He brokered deals for actors on large film franchises, writers on high-level overalls and directors on award-winning films. He also negotiated industry-leading podcasting deals and advised clients on product-based startup companies. A zealous advocate, Duncan is a passionate and creative dealmaker, and he is not shy about bucking norms and conventions in pursuit of the best deals for his clients.
A Los Angeles native, Duncan completed a joint major in Business and Cinema-Television at USC and Duncan worked at Warner Bros. in the Intellectual Property Department before setting his sights on law school. He graduated from USC Law School at the top of his class as the Senior Submissions Editor for the Law Review.
Duncan lives in Pasadena with his high school sweetheart, Hayley, and their two daughters, Hayden and Harper. When not working, he can be found spending time with his family and their rescue dog, Chance. He is also an avid swimmer and hiker as well as his daughters’ chauffeur driver for ballet, swimming and soccer practice.
