John Meigs
John V. Meigs Jr. joined the firm in 2001 and became a partner in 2005. John represents established as well as emerging actors, hosts, showrunners, directors, producers, multi-hyphenates and production companies in all aspects of the motion picture and television industries, as well as in digital media, stage and publishing.
John also structures deals to create entrepreneurial ventures for clients outside of the media business – such as clothing lines, alcohol brands and skincare lines. John is a Los Angeles native with strong roots in the South Central LA Community.
After graduating from Harvard Law School, he was admitted to the California Bar in 1995. Following a Federal clerkship with the Honorable Audrey B. Collins on the United States District Court for the Central District of California, John began his career in entertainment as a litigator for top global law firms.
He specialized in entertainment litigation matters representing studios and individual clients in the motion picture and television industries. With five years of experience as a litigator under his belt, John then served as an attorney in the Legal & Business Affairs department of Twentieth Century Fox Television before joining the firm in 2001. John is on the Board of Advisors for Teach for America – Los Angeles. He is the proud husband of talent agent Andrea Nelson Meigs and the proud father of three amazing daughters – Avery, Isabella, and Calla.
